$1 Gallon Fills Tank for Billionare T. Boone Pickens

US totally free of oil imports seen only a few decades away as we move to Natural Gas. Predictions made that Natural Gas is to give the USA Energy Security by 2020 and Energy Independence by 2030.

Gasoline at $5 a gallon is no worry for T. Boone Pickens, the billionaire energy investor from Texas. He drives from his home to his office in a car that runs on fuel costing less than $1 a gallon. His method: He has a device that fuels his Honda Civic GX with natural gas from the pipes that serve his home. And he thinks there’s a lesson there for America’s energy woes.

World energy consumption has risen 45% since 1980 and it is projected to be 70% higher by 2030.

Argonne Lab Formost Center of Physics Research
“Gamechangers: Energy Science, Innovation, and the Future of America.”

In the National Laboratory system, we are working on new energy technologies that could transform the ways we generate, store and use energy, and that could protect our environment while recharging our national economy. But as we tackle the fundamental scientific research we need to discover and develop disruptive new energy technologies, it’s worthwhile to ask: What does it really mean to change the game? What does game-changing technology look like, and what are currently our best prospects for gamechangers? Ultimately, can we really change the energy game in this country? I believe the answer is yes — but only if we bring together the right people and give them the right tools to address the right questions. –Eric D. Isaacs

    Peak Oil & $225 Oil by 2012

    Upsides

    • “More carpooling, fewer people on the freeways, more telecommuting — in many ways, what would happen is what people have been trying to make happen for a long time,”
    • California has seen a jump in drilling activity as oil companies try to extract more crude from the state’s fields. Regulators expect a record 4,000 wells to be drilled in the state this year.
    • “Every rig and every crew that’s available is working right now,” said Hal Bopp, the state’s oil and gas supervisor.
    • Alternative-fuel vehicles become more cost-effective as all-electric sports car, could become important leaders in an emerging industry.
    • Upswing in local business as families look for less-expensive vacation alternatives close to home.
    • In Southern California, with its many natural wonders, theme parks and other attractions, the prospect of a “staycation”
    • And spending less time stuck in traffic on the 405? Priceless.

    Graphene supercapacitor breaks storage record
    Resulting in Super Fast Charging

We believe that this is truly a breakthrough in energy technology
    Bor Jang, Nanotek Instruments
The energy density values of the supercapacitor are comparable to that of nickel metal hydride batteries.

“This new technology makes for an energy storage device that stores nearly as much energy as in a battery but which can be recharged in seconds or minutes,” Jang explained.

“We believe that this is truly a breakthrough in energy technology.”
