IPV4 = Current Internet = Accommodates 4.3 billion IP addresses
Encryption requires extra equipment and programs
Estimate is that these addresses will be used up by 2010

IPV6 = 340 undecillion IP addresses = 3.4 x 10 (to the 36th power)
Devices automatically detect a network and configure settings
Encryption automatically built into this standard
Estimate is that it will be up by 2008
