INNOVATIONS IN TECHNOLOGY – Researching the innovations in communications technology in further developing improved group synergies that achieve shared goals and the accompanying social transformations will allow for the development of key insights into the future.

Critically understanding the positive and negative impacts, by measuring and understanding the behavioral changes and outcomes these systems have on individuals and the well-being of the work teams will lead to greater insights. To chronicle the historical development of telecommunication advances, sociological impacts, and more specifically the impact the new technologies have on agile work teams will lead to new discoveries and opportunities.

A key interest is to explore ubiquitous information access and the transparency of on-line educational processes and systems. Specifically this is information accessed by anyone, anywhere, and at anytime via real-time communications—voice, picture and video, over the internet or extranet, landline telephone, VoIP, cell phone, hand-held device, laptop, instant and/or text messaging, all of which allow people to globally access and share knowledge across time, distance, and cultural barriers. A key research goal is to develop an understanding as to how increased productivity happens by examining how these systems specifically influence and transform human interactions and what ways these transformations affect individuals, groups, and organizations. By further exploring how early adaptors and trendsetters of these systems achieved acceptance and where large-scale societal transformation begins, will lead to key insights for this project. Additionally, exploring the large-scale effects these technologies have on the evolution of capitalism, on the integration of international capital markets, on the improved distribution of wealth and globalization of people around the world is of great interest.

Lastly, the premise that adoption of these systems enhances education in such a way that the impact and influence of instant information sharing, assessment, and judgment becomes the key contributing factor to the social and economic transformations.
